Fry Sauce

We're having fish and chips for dinner tonight. Nothing terribly exciting. But I am making a fry sauce to go along with it. Having lived in Utah (Salt Lake City to be precise) for the last 4 years I have fallen in total admiration for it. Since I can't buy it where I live in AZ I decided I'd come up with my own version. Hope you enjoy!!!

1/2 C mayo or salad dressing
1/2 C ketchup
1/4 C thousand island dressing
seasoning salt (to taste)
garlic powder (to taste)
dash of black pepper
dash of paprika

mix and enjoy.

I usually like to have some made up whenever we have fish sticks, fries, hamburgers, you name it! It's really good to put on anything that you'd put ketchup on!!

We live in Idaho, and they give you fry sauce when you order fries at fast food places, just like it was ketchup! Lots of fun. We don't go out often though, so it's neat to have a recipe for homemade that looks more authentic than just "mix ketchup and mayo."

By the way, I love the idea you posted in July of the bite-sized monte cristos! I make biscuit pockets with all sorts of fillings, but I have to admit that monte cristo filling had not yet occurred to me. The next time we get lunchmeat, I will definitely make those!

I LOVE fry sauce!!!!! When I was in Salt Lake recently I bought a bottle at Hires, but have since run out. :( Mixing ketcup and mayo just isn't the same. I'll definitely have to try this! Thanks!
